Here we have some fascinating copies of The Filey Post from the 1870s.  The hotels published lists of the names of their visitors each week, often proudly mentioning their titles, because Filey was very popular with the gentry and minor royalty in Victorian and Edwardian times.

Today’s readers now often find amusing the prominent adverts, particularly those for cures for all sorts of ailments.
